GT Advisor, Jill Corradini started enrichment lunch groups last month to support our GT Advanced Learning Plans and to align with NAGC (National Association for Gifted & Talented) standards. Within this lunch group, students will be exposed to lessons from MindUp, which is a research-based curriculum that uses the latest information about the brain to improve social-emotional and academic learning. Lessons offer easy strategies for helping students focus their attention, improve their self-regulation skills, build resilience to stress, and develop a positive mindset in both school and life. Students will meet every 3 weeks with their respective grade.
In December, lessons focused on strategies for helping students focus their attention, improve their self-regulation skills, build resilience to stress, and develop a positive mindset in both school and life. Students discussed major parts of the brain and their impact on the body.
